In 10 days, the word "sustainable" on your website could become a legal problem.
On 27 September 2026, Germany's updated UWG and the EU Green Claims Directive close the door on vague green marketing unverified "eco," "climate-neutral," and self-made sustainability labels move from "risky" to "non-compliant." The COSH! Green Claims Checker is a Claude Skill that scans your own site against the actual rules (EU, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany) and tells you exactly which claims to fix before someone else points it out.
What a report actually looks like
Illustrative example every real report follows this exact structure, claim by claim. You can also see real examples in the images.
| Original claim | "Climate-neutral shipping" (homepage banner) |
| Issue | Based on carbon offsetting only — claiming neutrality this way is explicitly banned under the German UWG's new item 4c. |
| Severity | 🔴 Prohibited |
| Suggested adjustment | Replace with a factual statement of what you actually do (e.g. "we offset X tonnes of CO₂ via [named, verified program]") — drop "neutral." |
| Regulatory basis | German UWG 3rd Amendment, Annex item 4c (in force 27 Sept 2026) |
What's inside
- Report in your language English, Dutch, French, or German, your choice before the scan starts.
- Full-site scan Homepage plus every sustainability, about, and impact page it can find.
- Every claim type checked Environmental, material, process, future-ambition, certification labels, imagery, comparative, and CO₂-offset claims.
- 🔴 / 🟠 / 🟢 severity rating on each claim, with the specific rule it does or doesn't meet.
- A suggested rewrite for every flagged claim - Not just "this is wrong," but what to say instead.
- Regulatory citation on every line ACM Guidelines NL, Belgian Economic Inspection Guidelines, German UWG, or EU Directive 2024/825.
- A priority summary Total claims found, counts by severity, top 3 things to fix first.
- A plain disclaimer every time So you always know this is a first read, not a legal opinion.
Built by COSH!, the network for sustainable fashion brands and stores across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. This skill is read straight against the actual legal texts — ACM Guidelines NL v2 (2023), the Belgian Economic Inspection Guidelines (Feb 2026), the German UWG 3rd Amendment, and EU Directive 2024/825 — the same regulatory groundwork behind our PPWR Packaging Registration Toolkit.
Before you buy
Is this legal advice?
No. It's a practitioner's first read, not a legal opinion. Every report ends with a plain disclaimer telling you to check the results with a qualified legal or compliance professional before acting. Think "knowing what to ask your lawyer," not "replacing one."
How do I actually get and use it?
Straight after purchase you get an instant download: a .skill file plus a short install guide. You install it yourself in your own Claude account (Settings → Customize → Skills) after that. you use it in the chat by typing /cosh-greenclaims-checker; you run it on your website, as many times as you like.
Do I need a Claude account already?
Yes. This runs inside Claude, not on COSH!'s servers. It works on Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans; you just need "Code execution and file creation" turned on in your Claude settings. If you've never used Claude, a free account is enough to install and run it.
Who's this for?
Fashion brands and retailers who want a fast first read of their own public website before a regulator, journalist, or competitor gets there first. It's not built for auditing someone else's site, and it's not a substitute for legal sign-off before a big claim goes live.
